Cinderella Carriage Cake

Cinderella Princess carriage cake for our oldest Granddaughter. She just turned 5 and loves everything princess!

The base of the cake is actually foam because it was a small party so only the carriage is cake covered in fondant.  The wheels and all other decorations are also made from fondant because I thought 5 days would be long enough for them to dry – I was wrong and they needed a lot of support (aka tiny flowers, pumpkin vines & royal icing) to make sure they didn’t collapse. If I were to do it over again, I would have made the wheels and front seat base out of gumpaste instead,  which I did consider, but thought it would be okay. The front seat support really couldn’t hold it’s own weight but the wheels did okay with support.  There’s another cake online very similar to this that I used as inspiration and hers was really beautiful.

    as always amazing.

We are spending the next 4 weekends attending basketball tournaments. The first one starts tomorrow in Shelby. Grandma will go with us.
